The Environmental Works
Today, it seems almost impossible for pastoral painters not
to be saddened by the great changes in our physical environment.
This series of environmental works demanded to be painted.
My idealized fragments of beauty appear as postcard-sized,
a small creation in the sum total of a painting dominated by
corruption. Yet there is beauty in that corruption as well;
a painterly interpretation of wilderness giving way to blight.
